Chapter 11 of “The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health.” raised repeated instances of misinformation and mistreatment. The repetition of similar mistakes, even after facing backlash, was horrifying. For example, the swine flu vaccine caused 500 cases of degenerative nerve disease, Guillain- Barré syndrome, more than 400 paralyzations, and as many as 4,000 other injuries. Yet, years later, the CDC and FDA continue to hype up fraudulent epidemics and vaccines.
RFK Jr. states that the swine flu vaccine “had nothing to do with science and everything to do with politics” (RFK Jr. 2021). The vaccine was part of a scheme to guarantee industry profits and was honestly nothing more than a swine disease with no real threat to humans. The government relied on many promotional tactics (TV advertisements, celebrity advocacy, ect.) to portray that the vaccine was absolutely necessary. Furthermore, the CDC released lies saying that his strain of the swine flu was the same strain responsible for the Spanish flu in 1918 that killed millions. The blatant misinformation in this time (1976) shows that the government, CDC, and FDA cannot be trusted to maintain humanity’s best interests. The point that resonated the most with me was that more injury was caused by the vaccine than by the virus itself. The Swine flu shows a previous instance of censorship implemented in wake of a “pandemic.” For example, when Dr. Moris (a researcher at HSS) informed his bosses that the flu was a farce, his supervisors told him to not talk about it. Once he did talk about it, he was no longer allowed to research and then eventually fired. Unfortunately, as the flu was at the beginning of Fauci’s career, he learned that pandemics and fake pandemics provide an opportunity to expand the bureaucracy’s power and to multiply the wealth of its pharma partners.
Throughout Faucis’s career, other pandemics have been greatly exacerbated without public knowledge. The 2005 bird flu is a great example of premature actions and great negligence when obtaining data regarding diseases. Fauci predicted that 2-7 million people would die from this flu when in reality, only 100 people did. However, his predictions caused the government to waste billions of dollars constructing a vaccine based on Fauci’s words. Interestingly, Fauci knew that bird influenza was not that disastrous in humans based off of a study that he co-authored about the 1918 influenza. Fauci continued spreading false information and promoting pandemics with the 2009 Hong Kong Swine lu, 2016 Zika, and 2016 Dengue. Until reading this chapter, I did not know that Zika did not cause microcephaly among newborns. The idea that a lie like this was constructed, spread, and never truly taken back is horrific. Overall, this chapter indicates that many viruses that have cost taxpayers and the government tons of money were fraudulent. Although there was some real danger, most attempts at prevention were essentially scams to take people’s money and scare them into submission to big rich companies.
